The LinkedIn-Email-Call Technique to Warm Up Cold Prospects

The 3-Step Technique: Your Next Call Won't Be Cold Anymore
Jérémy Joncour, Account Executive, has one rule: he never picks up the phone without leaving a digital footprint first.
No complex campaign. No 9-step sequence. Just 3 actions, within 24 hours.
First, you visit the prospect's LinkedIn profile.
That's it. No like, no message, no connection request. Just a visit. Within minutes, they get a notification: someone from [Your Company] looked at their profile. They click. They see you.
You already exist in their mind, and you haven't said a word yet.
5 minutes later, an email lands in their inbox.
60 words. No more. Here's what Jérémy sends:
"Hi {{FirstName}},
I'm reaching out after visiting your LinkedIn profile. I have a feeling what we do at [Your Company] could be a great fit for you.
I'll give you a quick call tomorrow to explain!
Looking forward to speaking with you."
Notice what this email doesn't do: it doesn't ask for a meeting. It doesn't explain the product. It doesn't list 4 bullet points about benefits. It creates just enough mystery that the prospect wonders "what exactly do they do?", and actually expects your call the next day.
The next morning, you call.
Something different happens. They pick up,because they saw your LinkedIn visit yesterday, read your email, and know you're going to call. You're not a stranger anymore. You're someone they were half-expecting.
Result: you double your chances of getting 5 minutes of their time.
One warning, though.
This technique only works if you're comfortable on the phone. The email creates anticipation, it implicitly promises a useful conversation. If your pitch isn't sharp, the backlash can sting: the prospect made mental space for your call, and disappointment hits harder when you don't deliver.
But if your opening is solid? This is one of the simplest, highest-ROI techniques you can add to your outreach stack today.
How to automate it in Zeliq
In Search, select your prospects. Add them to a sequence with exactly this timing:
- Step 1: Immediately: LinkedIn profile visit
- Step 2: Same day, +5 min: Send the personalized email
- Step 3: Next day, 9 AM: Call task
The following morning, "My Tasks" in Engage shows your list. Click the first contact, call, take notes, mark "Done." The next one loads. In 45 minutes, you've called 20 prospects who were expecting to hear from you.
💡 Using Aircall or Ringover? Connect it to Zeliq. One click on the phone number launches the call in your softphone, and every dial logs automatically in your CRM. Zero manual entry.
